A while back, I had the opportunity to visit with Texas author Larry McMurtry and his writing partner Diana Ossana at his home in Archer City, Texas. McMurtry’s work has been hugely instrumental to my own writing…what an awesome couple of days!
I wrote the short article “Larry McMurtry and the Search for an Old Gravesite” as a result of our two days together. It’s a short piece about our search for Britt Johnson’s gravesite, somewhere off FM 1769 in Archer County, Texas. McMurtry and Ossana were working on the screenplay based on San Antonio-novelist Paulette Giles novel, The Color of Lightning.
